Abstract

The activities for the establishment of the Concá Ethnobiological Garden, in the municipality of Arroyo Seco, Querétaro, made it possible to carry out research on the use of insects in the Concá delegation. In this place there are still Pames communities, for whom the use of stingless bees (Meliponini) and wasps (Polistinae) is important, so through the community approach, we sought people who provide information about it. In this study, two species of meliponas were identified: Plebeia frontalis and Scaptotrigona mexicana, and one of the genus Trigona sp., besides the wasps Polybia diguetana and Brachygastra lecheguana. This work represents one of the first approaches to the use of insects of the Hymenoptera order in the Pame community of Querétaro and is of biogeographical importance because it represents the first report of the mentioned species for the State.
